Djerriwarrh Health Services (DjHS) is a dynamic and rapidly expanding public health service providing acute, community and residential care services to the City of Melton and Shire of Moorabool in Melbourne's Western suburbs. The hospital has a brand new renovated maternity unit and birthing rooms and is currently undertaking a Theatre re-development project and establishing a Level III Special Care Nursery, both due to open mid-June 2019.

We focus on your ongoing professional development by offering an extensive orientation program along with 5 paid study days throughout your program. DjHS also offers salary packaging (up to $9010 per annum) and free parking at all of our sites.

In 2020, DjHS have 8 positions available for newly graduated Registered Nurses to join our innovative Graduate Nurse Programs (GNP). You will be employed on a 12 month fixed term part time contract (64 hours per fortnight).

DjHS is offering two streams within the GNP:

General Stream (4 positions):

The general stream commencing January 2020, is a collaborative program run in partnership with Ballarat Health Services. During the program, participants will complete 3-4 rotations in the following areas:

  • Operating Theatre
  • Medical & Surgical Unit
  • Acute Unit at Ballarat Health Service (BHS)
  • Currently negotiating a rotation in an additional area at DjHS

Primary Care Stream (4 positions):

The primary care stream commencing February 2020, includes the following three rotations:

  • 6 months - Primary Care at Bacchus Marsh Medical Centre OR Renal Dialysis Unit at Melton Health
  • 3 months - Medical & Surgical Unit
  • 3 months - Grant Lodge Residential Care Facility

  • Resume (with photo embedded within document). Please include a list of all undergraduate clinical placements (location, type, hours).
  • Certified Academic Transcript (with key attached)
  • Certified copies of 2 Clinical Assessment Tools from acute placements (preferably one from second year and one from third year)
  • Contact details (phone and email addresses) of 2 clinical referees (preferably one from second year and one from third year)

You are required to upload your documents in two separate files - it is recommended to combine cover letter, CV and academic transcript into one file and clinical assessment tools into the second file.
